Fred Niederer's leadership at Gunnison Metal Shop from 2009 to 2012, a business with deep roots in Gunnison's history since the 50s, prompted a reevaluation of its identity. Realizing the misalignment between the business's name and its actual services, the decision was made to rebrand to Alpha Mechanical Solutions LLC in 2013.

In the spring of 2023, Fred and Lisa Niederer entered into discussions with a pair of new stakeholders interested in acquiring Alpha Mechanical. One of the new owners, a Colorado native with deep roots in the state, recently returned after a significant stint in Arizona where he played a key role in establishing a national HVAC company. After selling that venture, the duo decided to enter the home services sector in Colorado.

The connection was immediate and palpable when they met Fred and Lisa. The parties recognized the synergy and potential for success. Now a proud member of the Gunnison community, one of the new owners brings over 30 years of industry experience to the table. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and looks forward to becoming a familiar face around town.

Despite the change in ownership, the commitment to Alpha Mechanical's exceptional people, culture, and values remains unwavering. The new owners are dedicated to maintaining the company's unique character. Joining them in this endeavor are Josh Pierce, Shane Rider, Alex McKenzie, and Ben Chicoine, who will continue to lead Alpha Mechanical's operations. Their collective expertise ensures the continuation of the outstanding service that has defined Alpha Mechanical's presence in the valley over the last 14 years.
